The Morton Magnet Middle School Panther Pack inspires and enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, healthy and caring citizens.
The Panther Pack program is not just a safe place for kids to go after school. We provide diverse activities that meet the interests of youth, all of which promote healthy development and education that help members grow into positive and caring adults. The Core Program areas outlined below engage young people in activities with adults, peers and family members that enable them to develop self-esteem and to reach their full potential.
Education and Career Development: Our academic programming enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, set goals, explore careers, prepare for employment and embrace technology to achieve success in a career. Character and Leadership Development: Our Character & Leadership focus empowers youth to support and influence the school and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image and good character, participate in the democratic process, and respect their and others’ cultural identities.
Health and Life Skills: Our health & life skills programming develops young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
The Arts: Our art programs help youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Sports/Fitness and Recreation: Our athletics programming develops fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
Special Programs and Services: We are constantly seeking out new, enriching activities for our members to participate in. From literacy support to driving safety.
